the harvester sticks around…

18 Feb

…maybe this shirt looks familiar to some of you. just yesterday, it was mine. it was sitting in a neat little pile next to my sewing machine since the last time i wore it (the last time i wore it in public i got really embarrassed about it, about the fit and the fact that i was wearing a graphic tee that i’ve had since i was 16. it definitely does not fit me like it did then) anyway, i did a little self-imposed what not to wear and deemed it unfit. but you know, i get a little sentimental about clothes that i’ve had so long, i feel like they should still serve another purpose. and i thought it especially fitting to pass it down to ella, since even before i got/stole it, it was t’s. awww…keep it in the family. so- this was a quick 10 minute project, quickly before i got all teary eyed (no, not really). i used one of her larger shirts as a general pattern to cut the front and back and sleeves, then sewed it quickly back together. i honestly didn’t think of making a tutorial until i was done. maybe next time. anyway, i’m happy to see that she loves it, and that the wonderfulness of this shirt doesn’t have to leave our house just yet…
